Sri Athi Varadhar Farmer Producer Company Limited

We are over at No.119 on Palla Street in Kalathur Village. It’s a small village and everyone knows where the Palla Street office is located if they need to find us. Being a farmer producer company means we are constantly dealing with the ups and downs of the local agriculture and the weather. The office is a modest place where we keep our ledgers and meet with the village members to talk about the business. We named it Sri Athi Varadhar after the local traditions we follow here in Kalathur. Most days you’ll find a couple of us sitting at the desks trying to make sense of the latest crop yields or planning the next seed distribution for the members. It’s not a fancy life and we don't pretend it is. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint and the ceiling fan makes a bit of a clicking noise when it’s on high but it’s home for our business. We spend a lot of time out in the fields too because you can’t run a farm company just by sitting in an office all day. We talk to the elders and the younger farmers to see what everyone needs. Sometimes we just sit out front on the bench and watch the village life go by for a few minutes. It’s a community-driven thing and we are just trying to keep the tradition of farming alive in this part of the world while making things work for the families involved.
