Vennaru Collective Farming Producer Company Limited

Our place is on Pillaiyar Kovil Street in Sangamangalam, which is over in Nagapattinam. We are right at 2/131, not far from the temple. The name Vennaru comes from the river, which is the lifeblood for our farms in this region. We are a collective of producers who realized that we are stronger if we work as one unit instead of fighting alone. Nagapattinam has its challenges, especially with the weather being so close to the coast, but we manage somehow. The office is a simple place where we keep our records and meet to discuss the market prices. You won't find any glossy brochures or fancy signs here. It is mostly just ledgers and the smell of the nearby fields. We spend our days checking on the crops and making sure everyone has what they need for the season. Some of the older farmers were skeptical at first, but now they see the benefit of being part of the company. It is about making sure our families are taken care of. My cousin handles the logistics of moving the goods when it is time to sell. We talk a lot about the soil and the water levels. It is a basic life, but it is ours.
