Sri Suyambu Stores

Sri Suyambu Stores is a shop at No 93 on the Main Road in Sebathiahpuram. We open up the shutters early every morning when the sun is just starting to hit the street. The Main Road here gets busy with people heading to work or school, and we spend a lot of our time just watching the world go by from the front door. Our shelves are packed with all sorts of things, and sometimes it is a bit of a struggle to find a specific item for a customer. We have a small wooden counter where we sit and handle the cash and talk to the neighbors. Most of the people who come in are regulars who live nearby in Sebathiahpuram, so we know their names and what they usually need. The floor is a bit worn down from years of people walking in and out. We have a ceiling fan that makes a steady humming noise, which is the main sound in the shop when it’s not crowded. The road can be quite dusty, so we have to spend a good amount of time cleaning the jars and packets on the shelves. It’s a simple, honest way to spend the day. We don't have any fancy displays or lights, just the basic stuff that people need for their homes. When evening comes, we start packing things away and get ready to do it all again tomorrow.
