Shanmukesh Travels

Shanmukesh Travels operates out of Maharasi Illam, which is No 2/904 in the Tirunelveli Bazaar area. It’s a busy part of the city, and we’ve been here long enough to know all the rhythms of the market. Our setup is pretty simple. We aren't a big travel agency with a lot of staff. It’s just a small group of us managing the bookings and making sure the cars are ready to go when someone needs them. The bazaar is always crowded, so there’s never a dull moment outside our door from the morning rush until late evening. Most of our business comes from the traders in the market or the families who live close by in the bazaar streets. We handle a lot of short trips within the city, but we also take people on longer journeys if they’re headed out of town for work or a wedding. We don't have a glossy brochure or anything like that. People usually just hear about us from their friends or family. We try to keep our cars in good shape because that’s what matters most to the person sitting in the back during a long drive. Sometimes the phones get really busy and it’s a bit of a scramble to get everyone sorted, but we manage to get it done one way or another. We’ve been part of this community for a while and we plan to stay that way. It’s a practical, local business and we don't try to make it seem like more.
