We have been at 87, Main Road in Sankarankovil for a good while now. It is just a regular shop where people come when they need something for a wedding or a gift. Most days, it is busy with folks from around the neighborhood dropping in to look at what we have in the cases. We try to keep things straightforward here. If someone wants a ring resized or needs to pick out a chain, we just get to work on it. The shop isn't fancy, but it serves the purpose. Sometimes the lights flicker a bit, but we know where everything is. My family has been doing this kind of work for years, so it feels natural to be behind the counter every morning. People know they can find us right on the Main Road. It’s a loud street with plenty of traffic, but once you step inside, it is a bit quieter. We don't do big ads or anything like that. Word of mouth usually brings people in. If a customer is happy with a repair, they tell their cousin or a neighbor. That is how it has always been for S R L Jewellers. We open up early and stay until the evening. It’s just honest work. Nothing more to it than that. We see the same faces every month. It makes the days go by faster when you know the people walking through the door.
