Down here in Nanguneri, we’ve got our setup at number 64 in Kamaraj Nagar. It’s a dusty part of the world, especially when the wind picks up. We spend most of our time out on sites, but this is where we keep the records and meet up in the morning. There’s usually a couple of trucks parked nearby. The office is nothing special, just some desks, chairs, and a lot of maps pinned to the walls. We deal with a lot of local workers and contractors. It’s hot work, and the sun doesn’t show much mercy in this region. We’ve got a small team here that looks after the local projects. Sometimes we have to travel quite a bit, but Kamaraj Nagar is our home base. You can hear the sounds of the town from our porch. We don’t use a lot of fancy words for what we do. We build things. It involves a lot of concrete, steel, and sweating. We keep a cooler full of water because it’s necessary. People stop by to ask about jobs or to settle bills. We’ve been in this spot for a while, so the locals know the face of the guys working here. It’s a straightforward life. We start early and finish when the light goes. It’s not always easy, but it’s steady. We just keep our heads down and get the job done.
