J V Cabs is at No 10 in the Corporation Building, right by the Periyar Bus Stand in Tirunelveli Junction. Being in a government building means there are always people moving around and a lot of official stuff going on. The Periyar Bus Stand is right next to us, so the sound of engines and the smell of diesel are things we deal with every single day. Our office space is quite small, just enough for a desk, a couple of chairs, and a small cupboard for our files. We have a lot of drivers who stop in to check their schedules or just to get out of the sun for a few minutes. The walls are painted a simple off-white and there are some old calendars hanging up. It’s a very public place, so we get a lot of walk-in customers who are just looking for a ride after getting off a bus. The floor is made of that old-fashioned tile that stays cool even when it’s boiling outside. We don't have a lot of decorations or anything like that. We just have our phones and our notebooks to keep everything organized. It’s a loud and busy environment, but being in the heart of the junction at the corporation building makes sense for what we do. We just keep our heads down and get through the daily pile of work.
