Girdhari Lal Chauhan & Sons

Girdhari Lal Chauhan & Sons has been operating out of Muruganathapuram for as long as I can remember. We are tucked away in the Madavilagam area. It is a traditional part of town and we like it that way. The shop is small and has that smell of old wood and dust. We don’t have any modern displays or bright lights. Most of our equipment is older, but it still works just fine for what we do. My sons help me run the place now, and we just handle the work as it comes in. We don’t have a website or any social media pages. If people want to find us, they usually just ask around the neighborhood or look for the old sign above the door. It’s a quiet life for the most part. We open up the shutters every morning and sit out front for a bit with our tea before the first customers arrive. We know most of the people who walk past by their first names. There is no rush here. We take our time to do things right, even if it takes a bit longer. The building itself has seen better days, but it's sturdy enough for us. We are just a family trying to keep the business going like our father did before us. It’s simple, honest work and we are happy to be here in Madavilagam doing it every day.
