Essex Farms Pvt Ltd is tucked away at 46, N Raja Street, right in the Aranmanai Vaasal area. Even though the name sounds a bit formal on the sign, we’re actually quite a small-scale group of people. Most of the time, you’ll find us busy with the paperwork or talking to the farmers that are located outside the main city. The office here is right in the heart of things, so it’s never really quiet with all the street noise coming in. We’ve got old desks and a ceiling fan that clicks on every turn, but it’s our home base. We deal with agricultural products, so our daily schedule depends a lot on the seasons and the weather. When it’s harvest time, we’re often here late into the night. Other times, things are a bit slower and we have time to catch up with the neighbors on Raja Street over a cup of tea. We’ve been at this address for quite a while now, and we've seen the neighborhood change quite a bit. People know us as the place with the busy phones and the stacks of files. We don’t go in for big advertisements or marketing stuff. We just focus on getting the produce from the fields to the people who actually need it. It’s a lot of work and sometimes things go wrong, but we always find a way to fix the problem eventually. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just do our bit and keep things moving.
