Sri Ponnaiya Traders

Our trading business is located at number 248 in Karumpuram, which is part of Zameen Muthur. It’s a quiet place, quite different from the busy city life you find in other parts of the state. We mostly deal with trading local agricultural products. This means our schedule is usually tied to whatever the farmers are harvesting at the time. When it’s harvest season, things get very hectic with tractors coming in and out and bags of goods being stacked everywhere. The rest of the year is a bit more relaxed. We have a simple warehouse and a small office where we keep our books. It’s just us and a couple of helpers who handle the heavy lifting. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. We just want to make sure the farmers get a fair deal and that the buyers get what they paid for. It’s a lot of weighing, checking for quality, and haggling over prices. Sometimes the weather doesn't cooperate, and we have to scramble to keep the stock dry if it starts raining. We’ve been here for a long time, so we know everyone in the village. It’s a life built on relationships and trust rather than big advertising. We just wake up, open the gates, and see what the day brings in terms of trade. It’s practical, honest work that keeps us busy.
