I run this tuition service at No 150 A, Mettu Street in Srirangam. It’s very close to the East Gate of the Srirangam Railway Station. Being near the station makes it easy for people to find the place. Trichy is a big area, but Srirangam has its own feel. I started doing this a while back. It’s just me and a few rooms in the house. I don’t have a big staff or a fancy name. Most people just know me by my name, Karthikeyan C. I teach students from the local schools around here. We sit down and go over their lessons together. It’s very quiet and focused. I don't use any flashy teaching aids. Just the books and some notebooks. Sometimes we drink tea while working. It’s very informal. Students feel comfortable here. We work on whatever they find difficult. If they have a test coming up, we spend more time on those topics. Mettu Street is a nice place to be. It’s a traditional area. I’ve lived here a long time. I know most of the neighbors. Parents trust me because I’ve been around for so long. There’s no big business plan here. I just like teaching and helping the kids in my neighborhood. It keeps me busy and it’s good for the students. They get their work done without any fuss. It's just a small local setup.
