Asst Engineer

Ariyalur. Mela Agraharam Street. Behind SBI. We are located right behind the SBI building on Mela Agraharam Street here in Ariyalur. It’s a busy little area, especially in the mornings when everyone is heading to the bank or the nearby shops. The office is at 4/34B20F1, which sounds like a complicated address, but once you find the street, it's easy enough. As an Asst Engineer, I spend a lot of time between these four walls, looking over plans and checking the latest figures. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The street can get a bit noisy with the bikes and the people talking outside, but you get used to it after a few weeks. The office inside is pretty basic. We have a few cupboards for the files and a couple of old desks that have seen better days. There’s always tea being passed around at some point in the afternoon. Ariyalur is a place where everyone kind of knows what’s going on. We don't have any big signs or flashing lights. People just know where the Asst Engineer sits. Most days are about solving small problems before they become big ones. It takes a lot of patience. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit and wait, maybe chat with the neighbors for a bit. It’s just a normal way of working, nothing special, just keeping things moving along as best as we can.
