Our office is tucked away at Shaheen Manzil in the Chalai area of Thiruvananthapuram. It’s a busy spot, being so close to the heart of the city, and the street outside is almost always crowded with people and shops. We are at TC 39/923, which can be a bit hard to find if you aren't looking closely at the door numbers. Inside, it’s mostly just desks and a lot of tangled cables. We are a tech company, but we don't spend money on expensive furniture or decor. We’d rather just have good chairs and working air conditioning. The traffic noise from Chalai usually filters in throughout the day, so it never really feels silent in here. We spend a lot of time on our laptops, occasionally arguing about the best way to solve a problem. It’s a small group of us, and we’ve known each other for a while. We don't have a dress code, so most days it's just jeans and t-shirts. Lunch is usually something picked up from one of the nearby stalls. We started this because we wanted to build things our own way, without having to deal with a big boss in a faraway city. It’s local, it’s sometimes chaotic, and it’s ours. We don't need a lot of praise, just enough work to keep the lights on and keep us busy. Thiruvananthapuram is a good place to be, even with the humidity and the rain that often floods the streets near our building.
