Down here on Thaliyal Road, it’s mostly quiet except for when the kids at SS LP School get out and make a lot of noise. We’re right there in the Karamana area of Thiruvananthapuram. The shop isn’t huge but we have just enough space for our computer setups and some worktables. It gets rainy here quite often, so people sometimes duck inside just to wait out the downpour. We spend a lot of our time looking at screens or trying to help someone figure out a software issue that’s been bothering them. It isn’t glamorous work by any means. The desks are a bit old and the chairs squeak whenever you move too fast. We keep some spare parts and cables in the back room. Most of the folks who come in are from around the neighborhood and they know where to find us. We’ve been at this same address for a good bit of time now. Some days are slow and we just sit around talking about the local news or the weather. Other days, three things break at the same time and it gets a bit chaotic. We don't use big technical words or try to act like we have all the answers. We just try to fix what’s right in front of us. It gets humid in the afternoons, so we keep the windows open to catch a breeze. It’s just a regular local spot. We didn't plan on staying here forever, but it’s become home.
