We operate out of the Gokulam building in the Thozhuvancode area of Trivandrum. It is a pretty straightforward office setup here. We deal with stocks and securities so there are always numbers moving around on the screens. Most of us get in before the market opens to see what happened overnight. The office isn't anything special to look at, just some sturdy desks and chairs and a lot of wires for the computers. We stay busy through the afternoon while the trading is active. People from the neighborhood sometimes stop by to check on their accounts or just to ask what we think about the market trends. We don't use any complicated jargon if we can help it. We just explain things in plain English or Malayalam depending on who is asking. It can get a bit stressful when the market is jumping around but we try to keep a level head about it. There’s a lot of paper shuffling and filing that happens in the background. We have some fans going to keep the air moving because the Kerala heat can be something else in the afternoons. Lunch is usually a quick affair at our desks so we don't miss anything important. It’s a lot of sitting and watching but it’s the work we know how to do. We’ve been at this TRA-161 address for a while and the locals know where to find us.
