Agrithanima Farmers Producer Company Limited

Vithura is a nice place to be, and that is where you will find us at Thudarvidhya Bhavan in Memala. This whole thing started because a lot of us farmers in the Thiruvananthapuram area needed a way to work together under the Agrithanima Farmers Producer Company name. It is a lot of effort to get everyone on the same page, but we are making it work at Padipottupura. Most of the people involved are just local folks who have been farming for years. We aren't trying to do anything flashy. We just handle the produce and try to make sure everything gets where it needs to go. Sometimes the meetings go on a bit long and we lose track of time, but that is what happens when you have a lot of farmers in one room. The office is over in Thottumukku, and it stays pretty busy with people coming in and out. It’s not some polished city office. There are usually muddy boots by the door and plenty of tea being drank while we talk about the season. We don’t really have a big grand plan other than just keeping the farm work going and helping each other out. It is a simple way of doing things, even if the paperwork gets a bit messy sometimes. Being in this part of Kerala means we deal with the hills and the winding roads, but we are used to it by now. It is just life here in Vithura, and we are glad to be part of it.
