Minjur Collective Farming Farmers Producer Company Limited

Our group is based over at No 23 Palla Street in Katturthathamanji. The name on our registration is Minjur Collective Farming Farmers Producer Company Limited, which is quite a lot to say, so we usually just call ourselves the collective. We are a bunch of local farmers from the surrounding area who decided that we would be better off working together than trying to compete or handle everything alone. Our office isn’t much more than a simple room with a few chairs and a table where we keep our maps and farm records. It’s located in a quiet part of the village, so we don't have to deal with much noise, which is nice when we’re trying to figure out our planting schedules or bank work. We don't have any professional managers or fancy consultants telling us what to do; we just rely on what we’ve learned from years of working in the fields. Sometimes our meetings go on for a long time because everyone has an opinion on how things should be run, but that is just part of being a collective. We share our tools and help each other out during the busy harvest times. It’s a very hands-on way of doing things, and we don't have any interest in looking like a big, polished corporation. We’re just neighbors trying to keep our farms going and making sure we all get by together.
