Our place is on 5th Street in Rms Colony. It’s a regular building, number 149. Most days start with opening the shutters and letting some air in. Rms Colony is mostly quiet compared to the main roads, which is nice for working. We have a few people working here, mostly just sitting at the desks and handling the export papers. The street outside has some trees, so it doesn't get too hot right away. We spend a lot of time checking lists and making sure things are packed right. It’s a simple operation. We don’t have a big sign or anything, just the address. People usually find us easily enough if they know the colony. Inside, there are stacks of boxes and files everywhere. We try to keep it tidy, but work gets messy sometimes. The afternoon slump is real, so we usually take a break for snacks around four. There is a small shop nearby that has good coffee. We’ve been here at Sam Exports for a while now, and the neighbors know us. It’s a steady kind of life. We just focus on getting the shipments ready and out the door. Some days are faster than others. When the monsoon comes, we have to be careful about the rain coming in through the front. But mostly, it’s just the usual day-to-day tasks that keep us busy until it’s time to go home.
