Madina Timber Mart

Madina Timber Mart is on Road No. 22 Near Indira Nagar Naka in the Wagle Industrial Estate. There is a lot of sawdust in the air here, so we all end up coughing a bit by the end of the shift. We have big stacks of wood piled up high near the entrance. Most of it is local timber but sometimes we get different types depending on what the suppliers have. The sound of the saw is very loud and it makes it hard to talk to customers unless we step outside. We don't have a fancy showroom, just a lot of planks and beams sitting in the yard. Road No. 22 gets very muddy when it rains and the trucks have a hard time turning around. We spend our mornings unloading new stock and our afternoons cutting pieces to size for people. My hands are full of splinters and callouses but that’s just part of the job. The Wagle Industrial Estate is a busy place and there’s always someone looking for a specific cut of wood. We keep our records in a simple ledger book kept in a drawer. There isn't much more to it than that. We just sell wood to whoever needs it for their construction or furniture. It’s a dusty and loud place to work but we like being around the smell of fresh timber and seeing what people build.
