Vasind - Shere Agro Producer Company Limited is located in the Shere Shahapur area of Thane. We are basically a group of farmers from the Post Shere region who decided to stop working in isolation. Thane is an interesting place because you have the big city pressure on one side and the traditional farming life on the other. We are definitely on the farming side of things. Our office is right there in the village, and it is a very down-to-earth place. We mostly deal with the crops that grow well in our local climate. We started this company because we wanted to have a bit more control over our own futures. It isn't always easy, and sometimes the rules for running a producer company feel like they were written for people in big offices, not for us. But we manage. We spend our days checking the fields and then maybe a few hours doing the paperwork that comes with being an official business. We are just local people, many of us related or having known each other since we were kids. There is no corporate hierarchy here; we just talk things through and do what is best for the group. It is an honest way to make a living, and we are just trying to keep the farming tradition alive in Shere Shahapur for as long as we can, one season at a time.
