V D Farmer Producer Company Limited

Out here in Morshi, specifically in N. Wathoda, things move at a different pace. Our group, V D Farmer Producer Company Limited, is based at Shri Diliprao Panjabrao Wankhade’s house. Diliprao is well known around here, so it was the easiest place to pick for our base. We are just local farmers from the neighborhood who decided to stop doing everything alone. It gets pretty hot during the summer, and that's usually when we sit under the shade and figure out our plans for the season. We don't have a mission statement or a fancy logo. We just have our crops and each other. Being a producer company sounds like a big title, but for us, it just means we buy our seeds together to save a bit of money and try to find better places to sell our harvest. Sometimes it works out great, and other times we have to deal with the same old problems every farmer has. We aren't experts in business; we just know what we've learned from working the land for years. If you visit Wathoda and ask for the Wankhade house, you'll find us. We might be busy with the tractors or just sitting and talking about the rain. It’s a real, messy business, not like the stuff you see in movies or on the news. We just do our best every day and hope for a decent harvest so we can keep going next year.
