Utkarsha Hospital

The hospital is on the first floor of the Annapurna Building. Shivaji Path is usually a busy mess, so it takes a bit of time to get here sometimes. We’ve been in Kalyan West for years. The building is a bit old, and the stairs are steep, but we keep the place running. It’s not one of those fancy hospitals with glass walls and uniforms. We just have our rooms and the equipment we need. The staff mostly lives in the neighborhood. We know the people who come in. Sometimes the waiting area gets crowded, and folks have to stand. We try to keep things moving. It’s a practical place. We deal with all sorts of regular health issues. The lobby has some old benches. We don't bother with fancy lighting because we're too busy. Rickshaws are always honking outside. Our windows don't block out all the noise. The nurses share tea in a small breakroom when they can. Sometimes the lift breaks, so we all walk. It keeps us fit. We keep records in paper files in big cabinets. It’s a bit messy, but we know where everything is. The doctors are casual people. We see a lot of fever cases during the rains. It’s a local spot for local people. No big PR teams here. Just us and the people who need help. We just focus on the health stuff and leave the decorations out.
