The Indian Smelting & Refining Co. Limited

Being on 1st Pokhran Road means we see a lot of the same faces every morning. The Indian Smelting & Refining Co. Limited has been part of this landscape for a long time. It’s a bit of a gritty job, dealing with smelting and refining metal all day. You get used to the smell of the shop and the sound of the machines running in the background. It isn't a quiet place, that’s for sure. We spend most of our hours looking at registers or checking on the batches being processed. The air can get a bit heavy, but that’s just how it is in this line of work. We don't have a big fancy lobby or anything like that. It’s just an honest workplace where we show up, do the refining, and go home. Sometimes the trucks blocking the road make things a bit slow, but we just work around it. The walls here have seen a lot of years go by. We handle a lot of metal, and it’s heavy work that keeps us busy from start to finish. Most of us have been here long enough that we don't even notice the noise anymore. It’s just the way the day goes on Pokhran Road. We aren't trying to change the world; we are just refining metal and making sure the orders are filled correctly before the sun goes down.
