Our place is located at unit 270/2142 in Motilal Nagar No. 1, right off Link Road in Goregaon-West. If you know this part of Mumbai, you know how busy the Link Road gets, especially during the morning rush. We are situated in a bit of a maze of buildings, but once you find the unit, it’s mostly just a lot of tools and engineering components scattered around. We started out small and stayed that way, focusing on the actual building of parts rather than worrying about having a shiny office. The floor is concrete and often has marks from heavy crates being moved around. Our staff usually has grease on their hands because we are always tinkering with some piece of equipment or another. It can get quite hot in the afternoons, but we just keep the fans going and stay on task. There isn't much room for a lobby, so mostly people just walk straight into the workspace. We spend a lot of time talking about measurements and how to fit things together properly. It’s a quiet kind of busy most of the time, with the steady hum of machines in the background. We don't really do big meetings; we just talk over the work while we’re doing it. Living and working around Goregaon means we see a lot of the same faces every day, which is nice. It is a simple life but it keeps us out of trouble.
