If you look for us, you’ll find us in Samta Nagar, Kandivali East. We’re in building number 118, specifically room 2301. It’s a very typical Mumbai setup, being inside a residential complex. It doesn’t look like a corporate headquarters from the outside at all. There’s a lot of families living in the buildings around us, so there’s always the sound of people talking and the smell of cooking. We’ve been here for a while now. The office space is tight, but we’ve organized the desks so everyone has a spot. We do a lot of technical work, but the atmosphere is pretty casual. We wear comfortable clothes and mostly focus on our computer screens. There’s always a few files stacked up on the floor because we ran out of shelf space months ago. In the afternoons, it gets quite warm, so the fans are always going at full speed. We get our snacks from the little shops just outside the colony gate. It’s a bit of a walk to the main road, but it’s good to get out for a few minutes. Most of us have been working together for years, so we don’t need a lot of formal meetings. We just shout across the room if we need an answer to something. It’s a very straightforward way of running things. We like the local vibe of Kandivali; it feels more real than the glass buildings.
