Sunflower Embroidery Pvt. Ltd.

Our place, Sunflower Embroidery Pvt. Ltd., is at Plot No. 9 in Dewan Shah Udhyog Nagar. We are over in the Waliv Phata area of Vasai East. It’s an industrial area, so there are plenty of workshops and trucks around. Our shop is full of machines that do embroidery all day long. The sound of the needles is constant, a sort of rhythmic tapping that you get used to after a while. We have threads in every color you can think of lined up on the walls. It’s quite a sight when you first walk in. We aren't a corporate giant, just a group of people who know how to run these machines. Sometimes a needle breaks or the thread tangles, and we have to stop and fix it. It can be frustrating, but that’s the job. We work on all kinds of designs for different clients. Some are simple and some are more complicated. We don't have a mission statement or anything like that. We just take the fabric, do the embroidery, and send it back out. The floor is usually covered in little bits of thread by the time evening rolls around. We clean it up and start again the next morning. It’s a steady pace here. We like the work and we like being in Vasai East. It’s a practical life.
