Living and working out of Vashi has its own rhythm. Sudip Dutta is based over at Geetanjali Apartment, specifically in Flat No. A-42 on the fourth floor. Sector-17 is a pretty busy area in Navi Mumbai, but once you get inside the building, it is relatively calm. I spend a lot of my time at the desk looking out the window when I am stuck on a problem. The office setup is quite modest. There is a printer that makes a weird noise every time it starts up and a stack of papers that I really need to sort through one of these days. Most people know this building because it has been around for a while. Being in 400702 means I am close to everything I need, so I do not have to travel far for supplies or meetings. I started this because I wanted to work for myself and keep things simple. There is no big mission statement on the wall or anything like that. I just try to do right by the people who hire me. Sometimes my family walks in while I am on a call, which can be a bit embarrassing, but that is the reality of a home-based office. The neighbors are friendly, and we often share a cup of tea in the hallway. It is a very grounded way to work. I do not use any fancy software to manage things; a simple notebook usually does the trick for me. It is just how things are done here in Vashi.
