Smita Gupte

Smita Gupte’s office is located inside the Anand Baag Chs on Station Road in Kalwa. Being so close to the railway station means there is a constant hum of activity and the sound of trains passing by at all hours. It’s a lively part of Thane to be in, and the building itself is a typical residential society where many small operations find a home. The space we work in is simple and functional, without any unnecessary decorations or fancy furniture. We spend our days handling various tasks that come our way, focusing on the work rather than how the office looks to others. Most people who come by are locals who live in Kalwa or commute through the station every day. It’s a convenient spot because of the location, even if the traffic on Station Road can be a bit of a headache during the morning rush. We have a regular routine that involves a lot of reading, writing, and sometimes meeting with people who live in the society. It’s a very grounded way of working. The walls are thin enough that you can hear the life of the building around you—neighbors talking in the halls or someone moving furniture upstairs. It feels very much like a part of the community here. We just go about our business day by day, trying to be useful and keeping things organized in our little corner of the Anand Baag complex without any fuss.
