Shyama Arts Centre is located in 2nd Rabodi, inside the Sri Saidham Apartment building. We’re in flat 305. It’s more of a homey setup than a strict office environment, which suits us just fine. The building is in a residential part of the area, so it’s usually quieter than being right on the main road. We’ve got some shelves filled with materials and various supplies we use throughout the week. Sometimes it gets a bit dusty because we have the windows open to let the breeze in. We don't really have a fancy sign outside, just the number on the door. Most people who come to see us are locals or people who heard about us from a neighbor. We spend a lot of our time just working with our hands and making sure everything is handled properly. There’s a small kitchen area where we make snacks and tea for whoever is around. It’s a small operation, really just a few of us. We aren't trying to expand into some massive corporation; we like things the way they are. Sometimes the power goes out in the afternoon, so we just sit and talk until it comes back on. It’s a slow pace of life here, but we manage to get everything done that needs doing without too much stress. We’ve been here for years and the neighborhood feels like home to us now. It's just a simple life.
