Six Pennies Foods and Beverage operates out of Vastu Anand in the Parsik Kharigaon area of Thane. We are in unit 12/204. It’s a bit of a distance from the main Thane station, but it’s a decent enough neighborhood for what we do. The space is fairly small, just enough for us to handle our daily tasks without stepping on each other's toes too much. We started this because we wanted to get into the food and drink trade. It’s not a massive operation by any means. Most of the time, the room is filled with boxes and samples of different products we are looking at. The building itself is just a regular residential complex, so we try to keep things quiet so we don't bother the neighbors. They see us coming and going with deliveries all the time. Sometimes the rains make the commute a bit of a mess, but that’s just how it is in Thane. We spend a lot of time on our laptops or on the phone trying to coordinate with vendors. It’s a lot of manual work and checking lists over and over again. We don't have a big budget for fancy furniture, so we just use what we have. It’s an honest way to make a living, and we’re just taking it one day at a time. It’s a lot of effort, but we’re slowly getting through the work.
