Shrivastava Steel Traders

The shop is at number 3 in Plot 41, over in Oshiwara. Being in Jogeshwari West near the Cemetery Lane means it stays pretty quiet in terms of foot traffic compared to the main market, but the trucks coming in with steel make enough noise for everyone. Shrivastava Steel Traders is mostly just piles of rods and sheets that we move around all day. It gets pretty dusty here and my hands are usually covered in that grey metallic grime by lunch. We see a lot of builders and some local guys who just need a few pieces for a small job. The lane is a bit narrow, so when a delivery comes, everything else has to stop so we can offload. It is a lot of heavy lifting and measuring twice so we don't have to cut anything a second time. Rain makes the yard a bit of a mess, but we just throw some covers over the stock and keep going. Usually, someone is making tea in the back or looking for a lost tape measure. It is a straightforward business without any bells or whistles. We open up in the morning, move some steel, and close when the work is done. It is not the cleanest job, but it is steady. Sometimes people get lost looking for the cemetery and end up asking us for directions instead of steel.
