Shree Ram Buffing

Shree Ram Buffing is located right in the B-3 section of Mhatre Compound over in Anand Nagar. If you know Ambernath East at all, you know this area is packed with small workshops and sheds. Our place is not hard to find if you listen for the sound of the wheels spinning. We do a lot of buffing and polishing here, which means there is always a layer of fine dust on everything, including our clothes. It is just the way the job works. I usually get in early to beat the main heat of the day and start on the parts that came in the night before. The compound can get pretty crowded with trucks and tempos trying to squeeze through the narrow lanes, so we spend a lot of time just coordinating where things go. It is a simple operation with just a few of us working the benches. We don't have a front office or a receptionist; if someone needs something, they usually just walk right into the workspace and find one of us. We use a lot of different compounds and pads depending on what kind of finish is needed on the metal. It is tiring work on the arms and shoulders, but it feels good to see a dull piece of metal start to shine after a bit of effort. Most days we just put our heads down and work until the light fades.
