Shirwadkar Tiles & Marble Industries Pvt. Ltd. is based at D-15 in the M.I.D.C. Industrial Area of Dombivli Phase-Ii. If you’ve ever been to this part of town, you know it’s a lot of factories and warehouses. Our place is no different. It’s a large, functional space filled with stacks of tiles and heavy marble slabs. The air always has a bit of a chalky smell from the stone, and the sound of the cutters is constant throughout the day. We aren't here to provide a luxury shopping experience. We are an industrial outfit. People come here when they need materials for building something. We have a small office where we handle the invoices and talk to customers, but most of the action happens out on the floor. Our workers have been with us for years, and they know the inventory inside and out. It’s a tough job with a lot of heavy lifting, but we’re used to it. We don't have a marketing team or a fancy logo. We just rely on the fact that we’ve been here for a long time and people know we are reliable. We take our tea breaks together and complain about the heat, just like everyone else in the industrial area. It’s a no-nonsense environment where the work comes first. We just keep our heads down and keep the slabs moving.
