Saravana Hospital

The hospital is right by the old bus terminal in Ulhasnagar, so it stays pretty loud around here most of the time. You can hear the buses pulling in and out while we work. It’s a busy spot near the bus stand. We have been in this building for a while now. The rooms are basic but we try to keep things moving for the people who come in from the neighborhood. Most of the staff live nearby, so they walk or take a rickshaw. It isn’t a fancy place with big signs, just a regular hospital where folks come when they aren't feeling well. Sometimes the waiting area gets a bit cramped when it rains and everyone crowds inside. We spend a lot of time organizing files and talking to patients who are just passing through the terminal. It gets dusty because of the road, so we are always cleaning the floors. People know where we are because of the landmark. It's just a part of the daily life in this section of town. We don't have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just us here, doing the work day in and day out. Sometimes the tea stall next door is the busiest place around. We see all kinds of people, from young kids to the elderly who have lived in Ulhasnagar their whole lives. It’s just a standard place to get help when you need it. I guess we've become a bit of a fixture on this street over the years.
