Samata Farmers Producer Company Limited

Samata Farmers Producer Company Limited is based out of a house in Bangalpada. House number 290, to be exact. We are in the Murbad area of Thane. It’s a quiet place, mostly focused on agriculture. A bunch of us locals decided to get together to see if we could do more as a group than just on our own. It’s not always easy coordinating with everyone. We spend a lot of time talking about the crops and the markets. Sometimes we meet at the house or out in the fields. Thane-421401 is where we call home. We don't have a corporate office or anything. It's just us farmers trying to figure out the best way to move our produce. Some days we are looking at seeds, other days we are talking about transport. Murbad has its challenges, especially with the rain and getting things to the bigger markets. We started this because we needed a way to help each other out. It's a simple setup. We don't spend money on fancy signs. Most of our work is done on the ground. People in the village know where we are if they need to chat. We are just a group of neighbors working toward the same goals. It's a lot of physical work and sometimes a bit of paperwork that we struggle with. We have a small kitchen area where we make tea for anyone who stops by to discuss their harvest. Sometimes the roads in Bangalpada get so muddy we can't even get through.
