My little office is Shop Number 2 in the Shiv Shree Apartment building. It’s right on Rabodi Cross Road in Thane West. If you know the area, you’ll know the Holy Cross Convent High School is just a stone's throw away. The sound of the school bell is how I keep track of my day sometimes. Rabodi is a tight-knit neighborhood. I’ve been here for a bit, helping people with their financial planning and advisory needs. It’s a ground-floor shop, so it’s easy for people to just wander in when they have a question. It isn't a huge space, but it fits my desk and a couple of chairs for visitors. Thane West is always moving fast, and there is always traffic on the cross road, but inside the shop, it’s usually quiet enough to think. I spend a lot of time on the phone or typing away on my laptop. The apartment building is older, but it’s well-maintained. I like being part of the local street life here. You get to know the other shopkeepers and the parents waiting for their kids after school. It’s not a corporate lifestyle. It’s just about being a local advisor and helping the neighbors figure out where their money is going. I keep some files in the back and a small kettle for when I need some coffee. That’s about all there is to it.
