Our business, Rupal Mitahara, is located over in Shivray Lane No 2, specifically in Dharmaveer Chawl within Ambika Nagar No. 2. It’s a very local part of Thane, and the neighborhood is always full of life. Being in a chawl means we are right in the middle of everything, with neighbors and other small businesses all around us. The space we have is small and we’ve had to be quite smart about how we set everything up for our food work. Most days it’s just a lot of chopping, prepping, and packing. It gets quite warm in there during the summer months, but we just keep the fans running and get on with it. We don’t have a big marketing budget or a fancy office setup. It’s just a practical place where we work hard. If you walk down the lane, you’ll see people moving about and kids playing. It’s a real community feel. Sometimes the deliveries are a bit of a struggle because the lane is so narrow, so we have to carry things by hand quite a bit. We don’t really have time for polished speeches or anything like that. We just focus on the food and making sure everything is handled properly before it goes out. It’s a humble setup, but it’s ours and we’re here doing the work every single day. We just want to get through our tasks and make sure the day ends on a good note for everyone involved.
