Raymond Ltd

Up on the seventh floor of Shiv Amrut Dham, we’ve got this small branch office for Raymond Ltd. It’s in building number one, right near the Yogi Dham area in Kalyan West. Being on a higher floor is nice because we get a bit of a breeze, which helps when the Kalyan heat gets too much. The office is basically a converted apartment, so it has that lived-in feel. We’ve filled the rooms with desks and stacks of paper. It’s not the most organized-looking place, but we know where everything is. Most of us have been working together for a long time, so we just get on with it. We handle the local logistics and the regional paperwork from here. Kalyan is a long way from the main Mumbai office, so we operate with a bit of independence. There’s a lot of train noise in the distance, but you get used to it after a week. We don’t have a fancy coffee shop in the lobby; we just go down to the corner for a vada pav or a tea. It’s a very normal, local way of working. We don't use big corporate words or have long meetings that go nowhere. We just check the inventory, talk to the distributors, and keep things moving. It’s just our daily grind in a regular building, nothing more or less than that.
