Out here in Asangaon, things move at a different pace than in the big cities. Rajganesh Natural Seeds Private Limited is tucked away at 60-2, right in the heart of the Tal Koregaon area. Most of us here grew up around these fields, so we know the soil pretty well. We aren't trying to be some massive corporation; we just focus on the seeds. The office is small and usually smells like dry earth and paper. Some days it’s quiet, just the sound of the birds outside, and other days it’s a total mess with bags everywhere. We’ve got a few desks and a lot of storage space for the stock. Visitors usually stop by for a cup of tea before we get down to talking about the crops. The road out to Koregaon can be a bit bumpy after the monsoon, but we’re used to it. We take care of the sorting and the paperwork ourselves. It’s a lot of manual work, checking things by hand and making sure the labels are right. We don’t have any fancy mission statements or anything like that. We just want to make sure the seeds are good and that people get what they need for their planting. It’s a plain, honest living. If you come by, you’ll probably see us just sitting around the main table sorting through the morning's mail or checking the inventory lists. We've been at this a while now.
