Pradeep Steel

Pradeep Steel is at Shop No. 6 on Mbs Road, over in Vinobha Bhave Nagar. We’ve been operating out of this small space for a while now. We sell steel, mostly rods and sheets for building work. The shop is usually crowded because we try to keep as much stock as we can in a small area. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have a delivery coming in. We don't have any fancy displays or a big staff. It's usually just one or two of us here to help customers load up their vehicles. The road outside can get pretty busy with traffic, so it’s sometimes a bit noisy, but we’re used to it. We don't bother with anything corporate. We just write down the orders and make sure the weights are correct. People come to us because we’re local and we don’t make things complicated. We just sell the steel for what it is. There’s no sales pitch or anything like that. If someone needs a certain amount, we cut it or find the right piece and that’s it. It’s a basic business, but it’s what we know. We’ve been here long enough that we know most of the contractors in the neighborhood. We just keep our heads down and do the work day in and day out. Every morning we open up the shutters and start moving the stock around so there is room for people to walk in. It is just a regular shop.
