Our place is B 401 on the 4th floor of the Kapilavastu Building. It’s on Kolbad Road in Thane West, right near the Pratap cinema. Being on the fourth floor means we’re high enough to miss most of the street-level dust, though the noise of the traffic still finds its way up. The building itself is a bit older, with those heavy metal gates on the elevators that you have to pull shut yourself. Inside, we’ve got a mix of old and new chairs and a few big windows that let in a lot of light in the mornings. Thane gets incredibly humid, so the fans are almost always on full blast. We don’t really do formal meetings; we just talk across the room to each other. There’s a small space where we keep our bags and coats. Most of us take the bus or a rickshaw from the station to get here. It’s a busy area, so there’s always something happening outside. We often go down to the local stalls for a vada pav in the evening. There isn't any fancy art on the walls or a grand entrance. It’s just a functional office where we spend our hours. Sometimes the lift breaks down and we have to take the stairs, which is a bit of a workout. It’s a honest, hardworking environment without any of the usual corporate polish. We just focus on our projects.
