It gets pretty busy here on Ghodbunder Road, especially with all the traffic heading towards Thane West. Our place is at Survey No. 95, right near Bharat Gears Limited, so it’s easy to spot if you’re looking for it. We have been here at Kausa Shil for a while now. The shop is basically just rows and rows of tile samples and stacks of boxes in the back. It’s a lot of heavy lifting when the shipments come in. We spend a lot of time helping people pick out what looks good for their floors or walls. It’s funny how long it can take someone to choose a shade of white or grey, but I guess it’s their house so they want it right. We don’t have fancy displays like the big showrooms in the city. It’s a bit more crowded and practical here. We keep the tiles organized as best as we can, but things get moved around a lot. Panchpakadi is just down the way, so we get a lot of locals coming through. The air is always a bit dusty from the road and the warehouse, but you get used to it after a week. We just try to keep enough stock so people don’t have to wait too long. It’s just me and a few others most days, making sure everything is loaded up correctly and that the customers are happy with what they bought. Tiles are fragile, so we have to be careful when moving the crates around.
