Omkar Computer

We are based at Ambitar Chawl, Room No 7, which is near the Haridarshan Apt on the main road in Atli Ambivali W, Kalyan Thane. The business is called Omkar Computer. It is a very small room, and we have it filled up with all kinds of computer parts, from old hard drives to keyboards. We mostly do repairs for the local people who live in the chawl or the nearby apartments. When someone’s laptop stops working or they get a virus, they bring it to us and we see what we can do. It’s a lot of manual work, opening up the machines and checking the connections. The space is pretty cramped, so we usually just have one or two people working at a time. We don't have any fancy signage, just a small board so people know where we are. The main road is always loud with traffic, and sometimes the dust from the street gets into the shop, so we have to keep our tools covered. We don't have a big budget for advertising or anything like that. People just know us because we’ve been here for a while and we don't charge too much for the labor. We drink our tea while we wait for software to install or for a system to reboot. It’s a simple life and we enjoy the challenge of fixing something that someone else thought was broken for good. We just take it one computer at a time and try to stay busy.
