You can find us at Bhagabai Chawl in Thane East. We’re right near the Navyug Mitra Mandal and just opposite the railway station in Chendani Koliwada. Being so close to the station means there is always a crowd and a lot of noise from the trains, but it makes it very easy for us to get here every day. We do art stuff in this space. It’s not a gallery or anything posh like you see in the main city. It’s a working space where things get made by hand. There are paints, brushes, and materials scattered around most of the time. The floor usually has some stains on it, but that's just part of a day's work. Since we are in a chawl, the space is a bit tight, but we make it work for us. We’ve been here for many years. Everyone in the neighborhood knows our spot. We get a lot of natural light in the mornings which is good for seeing the colors correctly on the pieces we make. In the monsoons, the sound of the rain hitting the roof is really loud. We drink a lot of chai from the shop right across the street. We don't have a website or any marketing people. People usually find us by word of mouth or by just walking past the station and seeing us working. It’s a busy, cramped, and lively place to work. We just keep our heads down and finish the work we have for the day.
