Nim

Our office for Nim is tucked away in Kalyan, Maharashtra. It’s a busy part of the world to be in, especially with the trains and the local markets always humming. The building we are in is quite old and doesn't have an elevator, so we get our exercise climbing the stairs. Inside, the space is simple. We have a few desks pushed against the walls and a corner for making tea. Kalyan gets very humid, so the air inside can feel a bit heavy sometimes. We don't have any of that high-end office furniture. Most of our stuff is second-hand or just basic things we’ve picked up over the years. The name Nim is on a small plate by the entrance. We aren't a big operation, just a handful of us getting through the daily tasks. You can hear the sounds of the street from the window, which stays open most of the time to catch whatever breeze there is. It's not a polished environment by any means. There’s usually a bit of dust on the shelves and the light flickers occasionally. We don't mind it much because it's home for us. We just focus on what's in front of us and try to stay productive until it's time to catch the train back home. It's a practical, local way to run things in the 421306 zip code area.
