National Marble

If you’re heading toward Tikujini Wadi in Thane West, you’ve probably passed us in Durga Nagar. We are right across from the Bank of Baroda on the Manpada road. Our yard is usually filled with different kinds of marble that we get from all over. The area around Chitalsar has changed a lot since we started, but we are still here in the same spot. It’s a bit of a messy business, honestly. There is always water on the floor from when we wet the stone to show the color, and the workers are always busy with the hand-polishing tools. It’s not a quiet place. The traffic on the road to the water park is always moving, especially on weekends. People from the nearby apartments come by when they are renovating their bathrooms or halls. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that. Word just gets around the neighborhood. Sometimes we have tea with the regular contractors who come in to pick up materials. It’s a very local feel. We just focus on keeping the slabs organized so we don’t lose track of what we have in stock. It’s a lot of work to keep a marble yard running, but it’s what we know how to do. Most days are just about moving stone from one side of the lot to the other and keeping the front gate clear.
