We’re based in Thane, specifically in the Jai Sagar society in Kharigaon. Our office is number 301, so you have to head up the stairs or take the lift if it’s working that day. N C R Corp Ltd sounds quite formal, but we are actually a pretty small operation on the ground. Being in a residential building like Jai Sagar Chs means it feels more like a home than a cold office. We know the security guards and the people living in the other flats. It’s a nice part of Maharashtra to work in, even if the commute can be a bit of a pain sometimes. The office is packed with stuff, from old files to the equipment we need. We don’t have a cleaning crew that comes in every night, so we usually tidy up ourselves. There’s no big mission statement on the wall. We just have a calendar and a list of things to do. We usually have lunch on the balcony if the weather is okay. It’s a practical way to run things without the high costs of a downtown skyscraper. Most of our visitors are people from around Thane or Mumbai who don't mind the trek out to Kharigaon. It’s honest work and we just take it one day at a time. The 400605 pincode is our little corner of the world. We’ve been here for a while and don't plan on moving.
