Mec Engineers

We are based out of the Vardhaman Industrial Estate in Gawaripada. If you come to units 7 and 8, you will hear the machines running from the street. It is an industrial area, so it’s always loud and smells like metal and oil. We do engineering work, mostly fixing parts or making small components that people need for their own machines. It is greasy work and our clothes usually have stains that won't come out. We don't have a fancy office; we have a workbench and a couple of old lathes that still run better than the new stuff. Being in Vasai East means we deal with the commute and the heat, but the community of workshops here is solid. We help each other with tools when someone’s drill breaks down. We aren't looking to change the world or anything. We just take the drawings people bring us and try to make the metal match the paper. Some days are slow and we just clean the equipment, and other days we are working late under the tube lights to finish a rush order. It’s basic, honest engineering without any of the corporate talk that you find in the big city firms. We just keep the motors running and the grease fresh for the next job.
