Lal Sweets is just a small place here in Kandivali East at A/1. We’ve been around for a while now, mostly just making the usual stuff people look for when they want something sweet after dinner. It’s not a big fancy shop or anything like that. Just a counter and some trays. We open early to get the batches ready. Sometimes the floor is a bit sticky and the noise from the street gets in, but that’s just how it is around here. My uncle started this and now a few of us just keep it going day to day. We make the laddoos and barfis in the back room. It gets hot back there, especially in the summer months. People from the nearby buildings stop by on their way home from work. Usually, they just grab a box and go. We don't have a lot of seating, maybe just a stool or two if someone needs to wait. The signboard is a bit faded now, but everyone knows where we are. We try to keep things simple. If we run out of something, we just make more the next day. It’s a bit crowded in the evenings when the train station lets out. We just do our work and hope the fridge doesn’t act up again. That’s pretty much us. There is nothing more to it, really. It is just a local sweet shop doing its thing every day.
