Over in Thane West, you’ll find our Kpmg office at 16A 1 in Brindavan Society. It’s a well-known society in the 400601 area, and it’s actually quite a decent place to be. There’s a bit more of a relaxed vibe here compared to the middle of Mumbai. We’re located in one of the buildings within the complex, so we have to follow the society rules about where to park and who can come in. It’s a bit of a walk from the main gate to our door, especially if you’re carrying a heavy bag. Inside, the office is pretty basic. We’ve got a few rooms with desks and chairs, and a whole lot of filing cabinets that are starting to overflow. The Mumbai humidity can be pretty tough, so we keep the old fans going at full speed all day long. When the monsoon hits, you can hear the rain drumming on the roof, which is actually kind of nice while you’re stuck working. We aren't a big, flashy operation with glass elevators and fancy suits. It’s more of a local feel where we all know each other’s names and whose turn it is to buy the biscuits. We have our lunch together most days, just sharing whatever people brought from home. It’s a steady, quiet place to get through the work without too many people bothering us. We don’t have any fancy signs or mission statements. We just do our jobs.
